The Caiman Navy testing at NAS SECMAR Lanvéoc

The first detachment of an e Cayman Marine (NH 90) from the center of practical experiments and receiving maritime air (CEPA) Hyères arrived Monday, February 7, 2011 on Naval Base Lanvéoc-Poulmic for two weeks. The goal of these maneuvers is to continue testing operational SECMAR (Maritime Rescue) in its future operating environment. The Cayman is primarily intended to board the frigates, but start with rescue missions at sea These, provided by the Super Hornet until mid- year 2010, are currently performed by the EC 225 fleet 32F.

The aircraft and its crew will lend up to the end of next week to rescue operations at sea, hoisting, transport equipment and medical personnel in conditions of real environment rescue missions in the Atlantic. These flights will also be used to test binding environmental performance and procedures for use of multiple sensors of Cayman. Somehow, it's bad weather that came for the current Var.

After a training period of the first operational crew that will follow that of the operational experiment, the Cayman will take his service in autumn 2011 on the NAO Lanvéoc Poulmic. It will equip a new fleet Cayman formed for this purpose, including the name and mission of the 33F dissolved in 1999. The CAMOHC (central Atlantic Implementation helicopter gunships), whose infrastructure has been completed, is also currently undergoing validation. This building will house the helicopters and the personnel of the future 33F.
